At M J Hickey (Plant Hire), health and safety is a core part of our operations. We are committed to ensuring that all plant supplied is safe, compliant, and ready to perform reliably on site.

Equipment Compliance & Maintenance

All of our excavators are maintained to the highest standards and undergo rigorous inspection and testing, including:

  • LOLER Certification – All lifting equipment is thoroughly examined in accordance with LOLER regulations, ensuring it is safe for lifting operations.

  • Planned Maintenance Inspections (PMI) – Regular servicing and inspections are carried out across our fleet to maintain performance, reliability, and safety.

  • Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) – Every machine is checked prior to delivery to ensure it arrives on site in full working order.

  • Routine Servicing & Repairs – Our modern fleet is continuously maintained by experienced engineers to meet current safety and environmental standards.

We ensure all machines are supplied with the relevant documentation where required, giving you full confidence in their compliance on site.

Operator Safety

Where machines are supplied with operators, all operators are CPCS qualified, experienced, and committed to safe working practices in line with current regulations and site requirements.

 

Additional Safety Features

We understand that different sites have different safety requirements. Our machines can be equipped with a range of additional safety features, including:

  • Halo Safety Systems – Proximity warning systems designed to improve awareness around the machine and reduce the risk of collision with personnel or objects.

  • Safety Shield Systems – Advanced detection systems that can identify hazards and provide visual and audible alerts to the operator.

  • Reversing Cameras & 360° Visibility Systems – Enhancing operator visibility and reducing blind spots.
